Who Needs the Arts and Creativity?

Just something to think about as we try to figure out why, exactly, we should be cutting arts programs in schools. "Creativity is not an exotic extra for education, like literacy it should be at the heart of national priorities." - Sir Ken Robinson

Slightly confused by this post - The quote seems to be support creativity (and therefore the arts), but the wording of your post makes it seem as though you support cutting music and performing arts. Can you clarify this?

Neil, I guess my point may not have come through the sarcasm. I truly believe in the arts and creativity and wish that it were mandatory for ALL students. Hence, I have tried to have you work on a few creative projects already.

The Arts, FTW!

I'm so enjoying your classes' blogs. And yours, of course. Makes me wish I could retake AmHist with you instead of that other individual I studied with... heh heh...
